1- Use an oven spray instead of cooking oil
It might seem like just a simple tip but using an oven spray over the burner can help you get rid of the burned smell from your food. There are many different types - there's one for cheese or baked goods. These are especially useful when you want to stop an accident that could be fatal. The oven spray will prevent yourself and your family from any burns and you will also have a fresh taste every time you use it again. It will also help other people if you don't want them to buy kitchen products with chemicals inside. You can find lots of them on Amazon. In the next part, I will give some practical advice and offer instructions how to remove the burnt smell in your cooking, even though it's not as easy as cleaning up the mess afterwards.
2- Using salt and baking soda or dry herbs
Another solution to the issue is using salt and some ingredients that melt quickly. When you put all the water and butter into a saucepan, add some lemon juice and some sugar as well. Bake the dish and serve it with a slice of lemon. Now you can get rid of the burnt smell and you can enjoy a delicious meal. If you love salty foods, be sure to use this remedy on your desserts like cakes. This will also work if you like to eat sweet stuff. Remember to watch what you do when you need to cook, as many things can go wrong. Do not forget to check the recipe before going out to dinner. So, it's important to read carefully to avoid making mistakes.
3- Scrubbing down the affected area
You can scrub out the burnt surface of the affected areas with paper towels or sponge. Then you use a small brush to scrape the affected area and if possible, use something sharp such as tweezers or a knife. This will prevent further damage to the food. The residue from burning is called "black spot" and it makes it harder to remove the burnt smell. Also, it can be harmful to health. Sometimes, the burnt residue left after cooking is hard. For example, don't forget to cut the bread so that the smoke does not stick to the top.
4- Cleaning with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda
You can use the same solution as baking soda, the only difference is that these two substances need to dissolve completely in the water and then they are added to the mixture. Baking soda has been used by many successful chefs for decades and it will effectively remove the burnt smell from your food. Just mix water and salt together and mix everything properly. You should also add some other liquid ingredients, such as a few drops of vinegar, lemon juice or lemon peel, etc. This should happen very gently while being stirred and this process should be repeated at least once a day. At first, using vinegar should last several hours until it becomes irritating. It is necessary to rinse it beforehand to prevent irritation. This substance neutralizes the chemical content of the cooked food residue, which leads to less odour.
5- Using coffee grounds
Coffee is a good alternative solution as well. Caffeine helps to reduce the harmful effects of acidity and enhances digestion. However, if you want to use it without making the whole process unpleasant and uncomfortable, then make sure to grind the coffee beans finely and drink this solution instead. Add a cup of tea or coffee to the solution and wash the stains. The best variant is to use warm (not hot) coffee beans and then boil them for 5 minutes. The residue in your dish remains in the form of "black spot". Thus, you can simply leave the area as is, cover it with paper towels, or use the spray and soak it overnight.
6- Hydrating it
You can make sure that the solution will reach the affected area within 10 minutes. Another way to do it is to soak the whole plate and then put it on to a glass of cold water. Let it sit overnight. After it starts to look wet, take off the plate. Next time, place more paper towels on the surface and so on. Make sure you apply enough force to squeeze the dish with soap and then rinse it thoroughly to absorb the leftover moisture, and then place a pot with warm water on the stove to bring the solution to the desired level of warmth, about 80°C. Repeat it if needed. You will see the effectiveness immediately. It doesn't look like it's doing very much, but it'll be done soon. This is how badly burnt you can ruin your entire kitchen!
7- Putting some tomato paste inside of the food
What I want to say here is that if you try to make the barbecue, you will be happy to know that it can ruin the meat and this can damage the bone marrow. You can prevent this situation. Instead of adding another layer of grilling the meat, try making a layer of tomato paste. If you want to change the flavour, you need a lot of tomatoes. Try to prepare the sauce using tomato leaves or slices if you can and it will be easier to deal with the problem. The main advantage is that tomato paste can work for meat, vegetables, or fruit. What is the downside? Tomato paste contains natural chemicals and this is why it's so dangerous to consume it.
